Although the D-pad is in a slightly awkward position compared to the Xbox controllers, I was still able to enjoy games like Red Dead Redemption with only a small amount of thumb-yoga required. The position of the LS and RS are in, what I consider to be, the most practical place at a glance. Like I said, being an avid PlayStation player, I naturally gravitate towards this controller as one of my favorites. My hopes are that perhaps other PS3 and Xbox players will be able to bond with me on this controller endeavor, or at least get a good laugh thanks to my never ending struggles. Long story short, I’m going to go into detail on my opinions of each of three controllers: the PlayStation 3 controller, the Xbox 360 controller, and the Xbox One controller. Once explained to me the purpose of the shape of the controller by my companion, I found it made much more sense and became easier to adjust when learned to handle properly.
I was absolutely convinced that the shape, feel, and placement of all parts of the PlayStation controller made nothing but absolute sense to both the way our hands naturally grasp objects and the fact that the, what I would joke “Aztecan Symbols”, made more sense than an B button that was red instead of blue.Īdmittedly over time however, I was able to adjust to the feel and well thought out placement of the Xbox 360 controller.
As ridiculous it may sound, one of my main console war arguments against my male-companion has always included the superiority of the PlayStation controllers to that of Xbox 360.

Now I had been content with the mutual love that blossomed between my PS3 and I until, of course, my current male companion came into my life, and brought his Xbox.įor the majority of our relationship together, I managed to stay away from the temptations of the Xbox 360, then named Delilah, and remained true to my dearest PS3 Serenity. I started with a PlayStation 2 and, when the opportunity presented itself to me, I walked straight past the Xbox 360 for a PlayStation 3. For years, I have been an avid PlayStation advocate.
